STUDIES IN ROMANS
LESSON 72
HOW TO
BUILD HOPE
Romans
15:1-4 (KJV)
15 We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to
please ourselves. 2 Let every one of us
please his neighbor for
his good to edification. 3 For even Christ pleased not himself;
but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on
me. 4 For whatsoever things were written
aforetime were written for
our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have
hope.
Romans
15:1-4 (CEB)
15 We who are powerful
need to be patient with the weakness of those who don’t have power, and
not please ourselves. 2 Each of us should please our neighbors for their good in order
to build them up. 3 Christ didn’t please
himself, but, as it is written, The insults of those who insulted you
fell on me.[a] 4 Whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction so that we could have hope
through endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures.
