FALSE TEACHERS

STUDIES ON 2 PETER

LESSON 5

FALSE TEACHING IN THE CHURCH

2 Peter 2:1-3 (KJV)

1But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.  2And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.  3And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Peter 2:1-3 (AMP)

1BUT ALSO [in those days] there arose false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among yourselves, who will subtly and stealthily introduce heretical doctrines (destructive heresies), even denying and disowning the Master Who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.  2And many will follow their immoral ways and lascivious doings; because of them the true Way will be maligned and defamed.  3And in their covetousness (lust, greed) they will exploit you with false (cunning) arguments. From of old the sentence [of condemnation] for them has not been idle; their destruction (eternal misery) has not been asleep.

1.    WERE & WILL BE vs. 1

·         There were false prophets – O.T.

·         There will be false teachers – N.T.

·         Damnable heresies – teachings that pervert the true gospel

·         Denying the Lord – AMP – disowning the Master Who bought them

·         Swift destruction will come upon these false prophets & teachers

2.    MANY WILL FOLLOW THEM vs. 2

·         Pernicious ways – KJV – causing great harm, destruction or death; also: malicious: wicked or meaning to cause harm; AMP – immoral ways & lascivious (provoking lust) doings.

·         Truth evil spoken of – KJV; AMP – true Way maligned & defamed

3.    MOTIVATION vs.3

·         Covetousness (lust, greed) using false words on purpose

·         Rip you off (make money and profit from you)

·         Their judgment will come quickly; it has never ceased working bringing them to eternal destruction themselves

IF YOU KNOW THE TRUE WORD, YOU WILL NOT BE CAUGHT BY FALSE WORDS!

ABOUT PROPHECY

STUDIES ON 2 PETER

LESSON 4

ABOUT PROPHECY

2 Peter 1:16-21 (KJV)

16For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.  17For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.  18And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.  19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:  20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.  21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 1:16-21 (AMP)

16For we were not following cleverly devised stories when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah), but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty (grandeur, authority of sovereign power). 17For when He was invested with honor and glory from God the Father and a voice was borne to Him by the [splendid] Majestic Glory [in the bright cloud that overshadowed Him, saying], This is My beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased and delight, 18We [actually] heard this voice borne out of heaven, for we were together with Him on the holy mountain. 19And we have the prophetic word [made] firmer still. You will do well to pay close attention to it as to a lamp shining in a dismal (squalid and dark) place, until the day breaks through [the gloom] and the Morning Star rises (comes into being) in your hearts. 20[Yet] first [you must] understand this, that no prophecy of Scripture is [a matter] of any personal or private or special interpretation (loosening, solving). 21For no prophecy ever originated because some man willed it [to do so--it never came by human impulse], but men spoke from God who were borne along (moved and impelled) by the Holy Spirit.

1.    THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE CHRISTIAN CLAIM vs. 16-18

v  Not stories

v  Power & coming of the Messiah are real

v  Eyewitnesses on the Mount of Transfiguration

v  When Christ was covered with the glory of God, they heard God speak to him

v  Jesus had the approval of God himself

2.    HOW PROPHECY WORKS vs. 19-21

v  God’s promises are made sure through prophecy

v  Pay close attention to it, until Christ returns

v  Understand, prophecy is not for private or special interpretation

v  Why?  It came from the Holy Spirit, not men only

v  It wasn’t because some man willed it

GOD SAID JESUS WOULD COME – HE DID AND HE WILL – PROPHECY DOES NOT FAIL WHEN IT COMES FROM GOD.

REMEMBER

STUDIES ON 2 PETER

LESSON 3

REMEMBERANCE

2 Peter 1:10-15 (KJV)

10Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: 11For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 12Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth. 13Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance; 14Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. 15Moreover I will endeavor that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

2 Peter 1:10-15 (AMP)

10Because of this, brethren, be all the more solicitous and eager to make sure (to ratify, to strengthen, to make steadfast) your calling and election; for if you do this, you will never stumble or fall. 11Thus there will be richly and abundantly provided for you entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 12So I intend always to remind you about these things, although indeed you know them and are firm in the truth that [you] now [hold]. 13I think it right, as long as I am in this tabernacle (tent, body), to stir you up by way of remembrance,14Since I know that the laying aside of this body of mine will come speedily, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me. 15Moreover, I will diligently endeavor [to see to it] that [even] after my departure (decease) you may be able at all times to call these things to mind.

1.    INSTEAD OF LACK AND LOSS…

v  Give diligence – ratify, strengthen, make steadfast

v  Your calling and election (God called, you answered, He elected you to eternal life)

v  Entrance into the everlasting kingdom (heaven) – abundantly

2.    PETER’S JOB AND PURPOSE

v  Put you always in remembrance of these things (vs.5-9)

v  “I will not be negligent”

v  Even though they already knew these things (repetition brings continuance)

v  As long

v  Soon will die

v  Have these things ALWAYS in remembrance

OUR JOB & PURPOSE SHOULD BE THE SAME.  PRACTICE IT THIS WEEK.

GROWING GRACEFULLY

STUDIES ON 2 PETER

LESSON 2

GROWING GRACEFULLY

2 Peter 1:5-9 (KJV)

5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

2 Peter 1:5-9 (AMP)

5For this very reason, adding your diligence [to the divine promises], employ every effort in exercising your faith to develop virtue (excellence, resolution, Christian energy), and in [exercising] virtue [develop] knowledge (intelligence),6And in [exercising] knowledge [develop] self-control, and in [exercising] self-control [develop] steadfastness (patience, endurance), and in [exercising] steadfastness [develop] godliness (piety),7And in [exercising] godliness [develop] brotherly affection, and in [exercising] brotherly affection [develop] Christian love.8For as these qualities are yours and increasingly abound in you, they will keep [you] from being idle or unfruitful unto the [full personal] knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).9For whoever lacks these qualities is blind, [spiritually] shortsighted, seeing only what is near to him, and has become oblivious [to the fact] that he was cleansed from his old sins.

1.    DILIGENTLY DEVELOP

ü  Virtue: excellence, resolution, Christian energy

ü  Knowledge: intelligence

ü  Self-control: temperance (KJV)

ü  Steadfastness: patience, endurance

ü  Godliness: piety

2.    THESE QUALITIES

CLOSING REMARKS

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 23

CLOSING REMARKS

1 Peter 5:12-14 (KJV)

12By Silvanus, a faithful brother unto you, as I suppose, I have written briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye stand.

13The church that is at Babylon, elected together with you, saluteth you; and so doth Marcus my son.

14Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.

1 Peter 5:12-14 (AMP)

12By Silvanus, a true (loyal, consistent, incorruptible) brother, as I consider him, I have written briefly to you, to counsel and urge and stimulate [you] and to declare [to you] that this is the true [account of the] grace (the undeserved favor) of God. Be steadfast and persevere in it.

13She [your sister church here] in Babylon, [who is] elect (chosen) with [yourselves], sends you greetings, and [so does] my son (disciple) Mark.

14Salute one another with a kiss of love [the symbol of mutual affection]. To all of you that are in Christ Jesus (the Messiah), may there be peace (every kind of peace and blessing, especially peace with God, and freedom from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts). Amen (so be it).

1. COMMENDATION & RECOGNITION

• Peter is the author, Silvanus is the scribe writing by Peter’s dictation

• Peter commends him and recognizes his contribution

• Reason for the letter – to counsel, urge and stimulate you

• Reaffirming that this is the true grace of God

• We are to stand (live, exist) in this grace

2. ORIGINATION & AFFIRMATION

• The letter was written in the church in Babylon (it is assumed Peter was the pastor)

• Affirmation that this church is on equal footing with all the other churches naming Christ as Lord

• Eastern greeting – the kiss, now more as a symbol of Christian love

• Peace – amen. (refer to AMP vs. 14 highlighted)

OVERCOMING THE ENEMY

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 22

OVERCOMING THE ENEMY

1 Peter 5:8-11 (KJV)

8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:8-11 (AMP)

8Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [[a]in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour. 9Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same ([b]identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world. 10And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace [Who imparts all blessing and favor], Who has called you to His [own] eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Himself complete and make you what you ought to be, establish and ground you securely, and strengthen, and settle you. 11To Him be the dominion (power, authority, rule) forever and ever. Amen (so be it).

BE SUBJECT ONE TO ANOTHER - PART 2

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 21

BE SUBJECT ONE TO ANOTHER - 2

1 PETER 5:4-7 (KJV)

4And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away. 5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

1 Peter 5:4-7 Amplified Bible (AMP)

4And [then] when the Chief Shepherd is revealed, you will win the conqueror's crown of glory. 5Likewise, you who are younger and of lesser rank, be subject to the elders (the ministers and spiritual guides of the church)--[giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel]. Clothe (apron) yourselves, all of you, with humility [as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance] toward one another. For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful)--[and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble. 6Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you, 7Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

1. OBEDIENCE BRINGS REWARD

 If we have submitted as we have learned, rewards are ours

 First – we will see the Chief Shepherd, Jesus

 Second – we will receive a crown of glory

2. WHO SUBMITS TO WHO

 Younger to elder

 One to another

3. HOW TO ACT

 Put on humility, as a servant

 With freedom from pride

 Remember - For God sets Himself against the proud

 Remember – (God) gives grace to the humble

 Therefore humble yourselves – so he can exalt you in due time

 Cast all your care upon him for he cares for you

IT'S ALL RIGHT TO DREAM

"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." Luke 21:25-28.

This sounds almost like a daily newspaper, doesn't it?  All around us are people in despair and discouragement.  Sometimes we are the ones affected.  How can we lift up our heads when life seems so heavy?  How can we be happy when bills are overdue, family members are sick and maybe dying, a hurricane or tornado has just destroyed our home, or a thief has just cleaned our our life savings?  For every disease cured, two more take its place.  Wars and natural disasters are becoming common place.  Banks are going bankrupt.  Businesses are failing.  People are losing jobs, homes and hope.  Suicide is up.  Family stability is down.

What can we do?

I see three things: first, Luke says to look up when we see these things happening.  In biblical language, this means to look to Jesus for personal help.  To do this we must have a personal relationship with him.  We can look up because he literally and sirituallly carried all our discouragements and hopelessness to the cross, paying the ultimate price in his blood.  Law required a life for a life.  Jesus gave his life; now he gives God's mercy.

Second, Luke says to lift up your heads.  This is only possible if you have new hope through doing the first thing, which is to look to Jesus for help.  To lift up your head means to take hope, stand up straight, square your shoulders and smile.  Now go forward with confidence that you are not alone, you have God's power working with you; no matter what the circumstances and get ready for better times.

This brings us tothe third thing -- The Lord's soon return.  Not only will God change your circumstances or change you so you can deal with those circumstances, he is returning to set up a new order on the Earth where discouragement will no longer rule.  "Our hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness", says the song writer.  To face discouragement, turn your face toward Jesus.  He is the hope of the world.

BE SUBJECT ONE TO ANOTHER

1 PETER 5:1-3 (KJV)

1The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: 2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; 3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

SUFFERING FOR BEING A CHRISTIAN

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 18

1 PETER 4:12-16 (KJV)

12Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters. 16Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.

Suffering for Being a Christian

12 Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. 13 Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world. 14 So be happy when you are insulted for being a Christian, for then the glorious Spirit of God rests upon you. 15 If you suffer, however, it must not be for murder, stealing, making trouble, or prying into other people’s affairs. 16 But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!

1. FIREY TRIALS

 No surprise – why? Look what they did to Jesus

 Not strange – normal

 How do you face them? With joy! Exceeding joy -KJV

 Why? You are then partners with Jesus and will see his glory when it is revealed to the world (and be with him as he is)

2. UNDERSTANDING THIS TYPE OF SUFFERING

 First – the aim of the reproach (KJV) or insult (NLT) is to put down or defame Christ – you just happen to be his representative

 Second – this only means that the Spirit of God is on you

 Third – this brings glory to Christ in that their anger toward him and you shows his work is being effective

3. HOW NOT TO SUFFER

 Don’t suffer for being a murderer, thief, an evildoer or a busybody

4. NO SHAME FOR SUFFERING AS A CHRISTIAN

 Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!

MAKE SURE THAT IF YOU ARE CHARGED WITH BEING A CHRISTIAN THAT THERE IS ENOUGH EVIDENCE TO CONVICT YOU!

BRINGING GLORY TO GOD

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 17

1 PETER 4:8-11 (KJV)

8And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. 9Use hospitality one to another without grudging. 10As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 PETER 4:8-11 (NLT)

8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay. 10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

1. THE POWER OF LOVE

 First – have fervent (deep) love for each other

 Reason – love covers a multitude of sins

2. ENTERTAINING OTHERS

Living for God

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 16

1 Peter 4:1-7 (KJV)

1Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; 2That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: 4Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you: 5Who shall give account to him that is ready to judge the quick and the dead. 6For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. 7But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

1 Peter 4 New Living Translation (NLT)

Living for God

1 So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. 2 You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God. 3 You have had enough in the past of the evil things that godless people enjoy—their immorality and lust, their feasting and drunkenness and wild parties, and their terrible worship of idols. 4 Of course, your former friends are surprised when you no longer plunge into the flood of wild and destructive things they do. So they slander you. 5 But remember that they will have to face God, who will judge everyone, both the living and the dead. 6 That is why the Good News was preached to those who are now dead—so although they were destined to die like all people, they now live forever with God in the Spirit. 7 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers.

1. SUFFERING CHANGES OUR ATTITUDE AND PERSPECTIVE

 Arm yourselves with the same attitude Christ had

The Power of Christ's Suffering

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 15

1 Peter 3:18-22 [New Living Translation (NLT)]

THE POWER OF CHRIST’S SUFFERING

18 Christ suffered[d] for our sins once for all time. He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.[e]

19 So he went and preached to the spirits in prison—20 those who disobeyed God long ago when God waited patiently while Noah was building his boat. Only eight people were saved from drowning in that terrible flood.[f] 21 And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from[g] a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

22 Now Christ has gone to heaven. He is seated in the place of honor next to God, and all the angels and authorities and powers accept his authority.

1. ONCE FOR ALL

 He never sinned

 He suffered & died for sinners

 Why? To bring us safely home to God

 Physical death (not imaginary) pain: physical or psychological -distress

 Raised to life in the Spirit

2. PREACHED TO THE LOST HERE & IN THE SPIRIT WORLD

 Preached while on Earth to the lost

 Preached (without possibility of redemption as far as we can ascertain) to those killed in the flood

 Only eight saved from the flood

 Picture of baptism – salvation through obedience not washing away dirt or dirty things

 . It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

3. HEAVENLY POSITION

 He is there

 Seated in honor next to God (right hand)

 ALL angels, authorities & powers accept His authority

WILL YOU?

STUDIES ON 1 PETER LESSON 14

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 14

1 Peter 3:13-17 [New Living Translation (NLT)]

Suffering for Doing Good

13 Now, who will want to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you suffer for doing what is right, God will reward you for it. So don’t worry or be afraid of their threats. 15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. 17 Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!

1. WHY DO CHRISTIANS SUFFER?

• Who would want to harm you if you do good?

 Not good people

 Evil people, jealous people

 Satan

• One path to receiving rewards from God

2. RIGHT ATTITUDE DURING SUFFERING

• Don’t worry or be afraid

• Continue to worship Christ as Lord of your life

• Be ready to explain your Christian hope even in the trouble

• Keep your conscience clear

• Be gentle and respectful as you explain your hope

3. IF YOU ARE SPOKEN AGAINST

• They will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ

• Remember, it is better to suffer for doing good, if that is what God wants, than to suffer for doing wrong!

HOW WILL YOU FACE THE TROUBLE THAT COMES YOUR WAY – EVEN IF YOU DON’T DESERVE IT?

STUDIES ON 1 PETER

LESSON 13

1 Peter 3:8-12 [New Living Translation (NLT)]

All Christians

8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind. Sympathize with each other. Love each other as brothers and sisters. Be tenderhearted, and keep a humble attitude. 9 Don’t repay evil for evil. Don’t retaliate with insults when people insult you. Instead, pay them back with a blessing. That is what God has called you to do, and he will bless you for it. 10 For the Scriptures say,

“If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.

11 Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.

12 The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.”

1. ONE MIND

 Sympathize with each other (have compassion – KJV)

 Love as brothers & sisters

 Be tenderhearted

 Keep a humble attitude

 Don’t repay evil for evil

 Don’t retaliate

 Bless instead

 God called you to this & will bless you for doing these things

2. TO ENJOY LIFE

 Keep your tongue & lips from evil & lies

 Do good

 Search for peace & work to maintain it

 God’s attention is on you – carefully pause and consider this (Selah)

ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD PRACTICE THESE THINGS AND EXCELL AT THEM!
