INTRODUCTION
TO THE BAPTISIM OF THE HOLY GHOST
Acts
1:6-8 (KJV)
6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying,
Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? 7 And
he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which
the Father hath put in his own power. 8 But ye
shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall
be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and
unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts

6 As a result, those who had gathered together asked Jesus, “Lord,
are you going to restore the kingdom to Israel now?” 7 Jesus
replied, “It isn’t for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has set
by his own authority. 8 Rather, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon
you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and
to the end of the earth.”

2. RECEIVING THE ‘POWER’ V. 8

First, the ‘power’ is a Person – the Holy Ghost
·
When He comes upon you major change takes place
·
You become a witness (one who has ‘been there, done that’)
·
Don’t keep witness to yourself, rather spread it everywhere
·
Even to the end of the earth
